birthday presents

My birthday was two weeks ago (hello, 28! Don’t you look nice.) I thought I would share all my spoils with you.

My sweet husband let me order our new bedding as one of my presents. We chose the “summer leaf” from West Elm. Purple! I hope I like the purple, I’m not 100% sold yet. We definitely have some work to do with it – I bought some fabric over the weekend to make 3 european shams in a darker purply/mauve color, since 2 don’t cover the span of the bed. durh! I also need to make some cute throw pillows. I think I will love it then (I hope!) rather than just liking it. (Disclaimer: Yes, I know there are holes in my wall! We took down the floating nightstands and need to patch and paint.)

Tyler also got me a couple of photographs that I had been wanting. I found this etsy seller from All Things G&D when she did a giveaway. I sadly did not win. I love both pictures, especially the flowers. So pretty! I just need to decide where to hang them. I think one of them will make their way into my office…so I can look at it all day.

My parents gave me a gift card and this awesome calender. Did I mention that I’m a leftie? The only one in my family! The calendar is great and it’s got lots of little facts about leftie’s and birthdays of famous lefties. Diane Keaton, St. Joan of Arc, Thomas Edison, Benjamin Franklin, Michelangelo — all lefties! Man, I am in good company.

Erin made me this awesome notebook holder. She actually made one for me a few years ago and I loved it. Then I left it in a shopping cart at stinking Walmart. I am so glad she made me a new one! I always keep a notebook in my purse, so this is great. I’ve already started using it – it makes me so much more organized.

My oldest sister, Anne, got me this cute bowl from Ikea. It’s funny because I’ve always meant to pick up the silver version of this – I didn’t even know it came in white – so I was happy to get this. Anne didn’t know I wanted the bowl, she just thought it looked like me!

I love all my presents – it helps that I have an awesome family. I think it’s great that each present represents a little of who I am, my family knows me well. Thanks again everyone!
